IMO There are a couple ways to get some money.
The First and most obvious is of course farming... Now for the more conventional player: Do a mission or quest (or if you're farming), and pick up EVERYTHING you get. Even the whites. Identify all your White Drops, as it will increase the value of them. Sell, and you could get anywhere from 900-3k in just drops alone. If you are farming you can make 10k in about an hour (depending on your build and what your farming) using this technique. A much better amount seeing as a mission can be anywhere from 30mins-2hours. With this basic knowledge you should be able to get decent money. You can also run people. This is probably the most beneficial for money if you can do it. The only problem is running can be quite limited. So if you are a caster class, it is unlikely that you can run. Of course you have to be experienced as you can't do a Droks run on your first try. Another technique is to boss farm using heroes. This isn't a big money maker, but if you get the green then you hit the jackpot... only problem is it might take an hour or two to get the green. Summary: Your best bet is farming an area with easy kills, and lots of drops (E.G. The Jade Brotherhood outside of Marketplace). try to scout out places where you think easy money can be made, and go farm it. GL hope this Helps, -IMAU Last edited by I Might Avenge U; Jul 29, 2007 at 02:48 AM // 02:48.. |

My Advice is, do runs
Try doing a special where you do the run to Sactum Cay, then run the mission, that's what I do, and I charge double since I'm doing the mission too ^.^ |

Farming is the most common way, but its not like you'll get lots of cash as soon as you start... You need to devote yourself at least a little bit to it if you want cash flowing in. Like someone above said, you can also gain money from identifying the white drops you get while you're in an explorable area or in the middle of a mission.

We're not all that aggressive about enforcement of the rule, but please take a moment to check out the forum guidelines in respect to language use.
Butchered English tends to distract people from post content, makes it hard for some native and second-language speakers to piece together what is actually being said, and frequently draws flames, which were in this thread prior to moderation. |

To farm requires time, knowledge of build, knowledge of area etc
To power trade, you need money. There is a big difference in trading (buy mini pet for 1k sell for 3k) and power trading (buy Crystalline for 1million sell for 2.2million) Doing missions requires complete understanding of the mission and it's layout, skills required and time required. If on the off chance I require a mission by someone I don't expect them to fail, get lost or bring the wrong skills. Chest running is fairly simple. However, chest running is not a money marker, it is a gold sink. Yes, you can get the odd good drop but your chances are low. Just pointing out a few things people failed to mention. Nothing is as simple as people make it out to be. Edit: Also something I forgot. To run and farm you are required to use certain professions, some runs can be done by a wammo others require a dervish etc same goes with farming. Provide me with some more info on what you have (char wise, equipment), money available (if any) and maybe I can help.

Not to encourage you or anybody.... Scamming also makes quite a big sum of money. Thats why a lot of ppl are doing it. Sadly Anet does not punish the act. It is however frowned upon by the community and you can expect a full list of ppl in your ignore list and verbal abuse every now and then.

when you kill things, they drop stuf. then you can pick up the stuff and sell it. some stuff sells for more than other stuff.

have you tried running? i find that beats farming in terms of the amount of gold obtained per unit time spent.

Running takes practices. They expect you to run it without fail/retry.
So, unless you are 95% sure that you can run it, don't. |

of course it does. so does farming. as far as i've seen, what people have been charging for runs hasn't changed much.

If you have max armor you can easily do the run from Beacon's Perch to Lion's Arc in Prophecies. Generally you can get 350g-500g per person per run, and it's not a long or difficult run.
Simply bring a couple of self-heals, any speed boosts (Dash is good if you have Assassin secondary) and give it a shot. |

Or run Gate of Madness. I believe the mission cost 20k to complete, 50k for master per person? Outdated price I think.

Another "How can I make $$$$" thread?
Play the game. As you progress in storyline missions get harder and drops are worth more, even to merchant. First time through with first character is always tough, but as you progress you should have enough gold to buy what you really NEED, although not always want you want. Live within your means and don't buy items just because you want them, until you have enough wealth to do so. |
